Hazardous Location Rooms: Indoor & Outdoor C1D1/C1D2
Prefabricated Class I Division 1 and Division 2 rooms for work that puts flammable vapors in the air: paint and coatings mixing, chemical dispensing, fuel and solvent storage, and battery storage. Choose an indoor room or an outdoor container; every room is quoted to your classification, materials and site.

An indoor hazardous location room is a steel-panel room assembled inside your building, the same platform as our C1D1 booths. It keeps the classified area small and close to production. An outdoor hazardous location room is built in a steel container on the CX platform, which moves the hazard out of the building and arrives factory-assembled.

What is built into every room
Each room is designed around your area classification under NEC Article 500: classified-area exhaust and make-up air sized to the room, LEL gas detection with automatic shutdown interlocks, explosion-proof lighting and electrical, audio/visual alarms, self-luminous exit hardware, and a control panel built to UL 508A. Options include fire suppression, epoxy floors with spill containment, drum racks and shelving, grounding and bonding, and HVAC. Designs are engineer/peer reviewed and built to ETL and UL 1389 standards, and ship with a drawing package for your AHJ. See standards & compliance.
Frequently asked questions
What is a hazardous location room?
A prefabricated room that contains flammable vapors or gases inside a defined classified area, with the ventilation, detection and electrical that classification requires, so the rest of the facility stays unclassified.
C1D1 or C1D2?
Division 1 applies where vapors are present during normal work, such as open mixing or dispensing. Division 2 applies where vapors appear only if something fails, such as closed-container storage. We build both.
Can a standard C1D1 booth be used for paint or chemicals?
Yes. Our indoor rooms share the C1D1 booth platform; ventilation, detection and layout are set for your materials and process.
Why is there no price?
Each room is sized and configured to your materials, quantities, classification and site, so every hazardous location room is quoted. Use Request a Quote and an engineer will reply.
